MACLAY INNS COMMENDED AT PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL AWARD CEREMONY Alloa based bar and pub operator Maclay Inns, which has 26 bars, restaurants and inns across Scotland, was commended last night, Wednesday 21 April 2010, at The Publican Awards 2010. Maclay Inns battled it out against stiff competition in the 'Managed Pub Company of the Year (20-99 pubs)' category at the respected awards ceremony which was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London. Maclay Inns was the only Scottish pub company to receive a nomination in the category and battled it out against Geronimo Inns, St Austell and eventual winner Capital Pub Co to come runner up.Maclay went through a tough judging process which included mystery visits from The Publican's panel of judges who were assessing venues based on service, product and management in addition to undergoing a demanding interview session with the panel. Managing Director of Maclay Inns, Steve Mallon, said: "The Publican Awards recognise the very best in the industry and we are honoured to have been commended in this category particularly against such strong competition. Maclay has been performing exceptionally well and we are confident that we will continue to go from strength to strength in 2010." Maclay currently operates 26 managed bars and inns across Scotland including The Tullie Inn, Balloch, The Rule, St Andrews and the iconic Three Judges at Partick Cross, Glasgow and is looking to acquire a further 5 pubs in 2010. Maclay Inns also manages [pubs owned by a number of Enterprise Investment Scheme companies including Thistle Pub Co II plc. Thistle is currently raising a further £1.7m of capital with the assistance of Cenkos plc to finance further pub acquisition. |
